TradeInvest Participated in the Signing of Bilateral Agreement between Timor-Leste and Australia and New Zealand

DILI, 15th July 2022 - The Director Export Promotion (DPE) of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency, I.P. (TradeInvest Timor-Leste), Mr. Decio Ribeiro Sarmento participated in the signing of the Bilateral Agreement between the Government of Timor-Leste and New Zealand and Australia.
The signing of the Bilateral Agreement between Timor-Leste and New Zealand and Australia is a historic moment for Timor-Leste because it is part of the requirements that Timor-Leste has to meet before joining the World Trade Organization.
Meanwhile, the content of the agreement was agreed by Timor-Leste and Australia and New Zealand to open the market gateway for the movement of goods, services and people, as well as the products of the three countries could be treated in the same way.
At the signing of the agreement, the Government of Timor-Leste was represented by the H.E. Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs (MCAE) Eng. Joaquim Amaral, the Government of New Zealand was represented by H.E. Ambassador New Zealand to Timor-Leste Mr. Phillip Hewit and Charge d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy, Mrs. Suzy Wilson-Uilelea.
